Privacy Policy
Effective date: 11 May 2026 · Last updated: 11 May 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Wallet Connections LLC ("we," "us," "our," or "Wallet Connections LLC") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with Sui Wallet Desktop (the "Wallet") and the website at suiwallet.net (the "Website"). By using the Wallet or the Website, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. The Wallet is non-custodial and self-hosted
Sui Wallet Desktop is a non-custodial, self-hosted application that runs entirely on your device. Your private keys, seed phrase, transaction history, and wallet data are stored locally on your device using your operating system's secure storage. None of this data is transmitted to Wallet Connections LLC, our servers, or any third party.
We have no ability to access your wallet, recover your seed phrase, or freeze your funds. Self-custody means you control your wallet entirely; we cannot help recover lost seed phrases or compromised accounts.
2. Information we do NOT collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your private keys
- Your seed phrase / recovery phrase
- Your wallet password
- Your Sui addresses (unless explicitly shared with us, e.g., in a support email)
- Your transaction history
- Your wallet balances
- Your dApp usage data
- Your DeepBook trading history
- Your validator delegation choices
- Your zkLogin OAuth credentials
- The contents of your wallet's local data files
This data exists only on your device.
3. Information we DO collect
We collect limited information in the following circumstances:
3.1 Website analytics
When you visit suiwallet.net, our hosting provider may collect basic technical information (IP address, browser user agent, page visited, referrer, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. This data is not linked to wallet identity.
3.2 Crash reports (opt-in)
Sui Wallet Desktop includes optional anonymous crash reporting. If enabled (off by default), the wallet sends technical crash data (stack trace, application version, OS version) to our error tracking service. No wallet data, addresses, or personal information is included in crash reports.
3.3 Update checks
The wallet checks for new versions on launch (can be disabled in settings). Update checks transmit only the current wallet version and target OS — no user identification.
3.4 Email correspondence
If you contact us at any of our email addresses (support@suiwallet.net, security@suiwallet.net, contact@suiwallet.net, press@suiwallet.net), we receive whatever information you choose to include in the email.
3.5 Optional newsletter signup
If you sign up for "notify me when mobile launches" or similar updates, we collect your email address solely for that notification purpose. You can unsubscribe at any time.
4. How we use information
The limited information we collect is used to:
- Operate and maintain the Website
- Provide updates to Sui Wallet Desktop
- Respond to support inquiries
- Diagnose and fix bugs (via opt-in crash reports)
- Send mobile launch notifications (only if you signed up)
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
5. Third parties
5.1 Service providers
We use the following types of third-party service providers:
- Hosting provider — to serve suiwallet.net
- Email provider — to receive and respond to email correspondence
- Error tracking provider — for opt-in crash reports
- Code repository (GitHub) — for hosting open-source code
Each service provider has its own privacy policy. We choose providers that maintain appropriate privacy and security standards.
5.2 OAuth providers (zkLogin)
If you use zkLogin to access Sui Wallet Desktop, you authenticate via Google, Apple, or Facebook. Your interaction with these providers is governed by their respective privacy policies. We never receive your OAuth credentials; the wallet uses zero-knowledge proofs that reveal your derived Sui address but not your underlying OAuth identity.
5.3 No sharing or sale
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing or any other commercial purpose.
6. Data security
We employ industry-standard practices to protect the limited information we hold. Wallet-side data security is your responsibility — protect your device, password, and seed phrase as instructed in /security and /learn/sui-seed-phrase-guide.
7. Data retention
- Email correspondence: retained for the period reasonably necessary to respond and address follow-ups
- Crash reports (if opt-in): retained for product improvement purposes, typically 90–180 days
- Newsletter email addresses: retained until you unsubscribe
- Website analytics: retained per the hosting provider's standard retention period
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
- Right to access information we hold about you
- Right to request correction or deletion of your information
- Right to object to processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to withdraw consent (e.g., from crash reporting or newsletter)
To exercise these rights, contact contact@suiwallet.net.
8.1 GDPR (European users)
If you are in the EEA or UK, GDPR/UK-GDPR rights apply. The legal basis for our limited processing is legitimate interest (operational data, security) and consent (opt-in crash reports, newsletter).
8.2 CCPA (California users)
If you are a California resident, CCPA rights apply. We do not sell personal information.
9. Children
Sui Wallet Desktop is not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. International transfers
If you correspond with us from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our service providers are located. We rely on standard contractual clauses or other appropriate safeguards as required.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated via @suiwallet_dev on X and via the Website.
