Pair Ledger with Sui Wallet Desktop
Pair your Ledger hardware wallet with Sui Wallet Desktop for cold-storage Sui management. Supported devices: Ledger Nano S Plus, Nano X, Stax, and Flex. Install the Sui app via Ledger Live, then connect to Sui Wallet Desktop. Stake, send, and receive with hardware-secured signing on every transaction.
Why use a Ledger with Sui Wallet Desktop
Hardware wallets provide the strongest practical security for crypto holdings. The signing key never leaves the Ledger device — every transaction is approved on the hardware screen, even if your computer is compromised. For larger SUI balances or long-term holding, this is the right setup.
Sui Wallet Desktop has first-class Ledger integration. The pairing flow is designed as a primary onboarding path — not a setting buried three menus deep. Stake, send, receive, and interact with Sui DeFi from your Ledger, all through the desktop interface.
Supported Ledger devices
- Ledger Nano S Plus — entry-level, USB-C, supports Sui
- Ledger Nano X — Bluetooth, larger storage, supports Sui
- Ledger Stax — premium with E-Ink touchscreen, supports Sui
- Ledger Flex — touchscreen, supports Sui
Older Ledger Nano S (without "Plus") has limited app storage and may not support the Sui app reliably. Upgrade to Nano S Plus or newer for Sui use.

- Keys never on a connected device — they live on the Ledger's secure element
- Every transaction physically approved — you must press a button on the Ledger to sign
- No browser exposure — desktop wallet, not extension
- Open-source wallet code — verify Sui Wallet Desktop's code; verify Ledger's published security model
- Full Sui feature support — staking, DeepBook, NFTs, dApp interactions
Sui-native hardware wallet — Citadel Suiball
In October 2025, Citadel Wallet launched Suiball, the first Sui-native hardware wallet. Suiball was endorsed by Mysten Labs at launch. Sui Wallet Desktop supports Suiball pairing alongside Ledger devices. For users who want a Sui-native hardware experience, Suiball is a viable alternative. For users who want a multichain hardware wallet that supports Sui as one of many chains, Ledger remains the established choice.
Trezor — not currently supported
Trezor does not have native Sui app support as of 2026. If Trezor adds Sui support in the future, Sui Wallet Desktop will add Trezor pairing accordingly.
Migrating from Slush + Ledger to Sui Wallet Desktop
If you previously paired your Ledger with Slush (or its predecessor Sui Wallet by Mysten Labs), the migration is simple — your Ledger device is independent of any wallet software, and the same Ledger seed produces the same Sui addresses regardless of which wallet you use.
